Job Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Safety Clerk to join our team in the oil and gas industry. The Safety Clerk will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the overall safety initiatives of the company. Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with industry regulations and standards.
Collaborate with the safety team to collect, compile, and analyze safety data, including incident reports, near-miss incidents, and safety observations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety-related activities, including training sessions, safety meetings, and inspections.
Assist in conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
Coordinate safety training sessions for employees, ensuring that all necessary training requirements are met.
Generate and distribute safety-related communications, including newsletters, bulletins, and reminders to promote a culture of safety awareness.
Monitor safety equipment inventory and initiate orders for replenishment when necessary.
Assist in incident investigations, documenting findings, contributing to root cause analysis, and proposing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure that safety protocols are followed and address any safety concerns raised by employees.
Prepare reports and presentations summarizing safety performance, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
Stay informed about industry best practices, regulations, and updates in safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in safety, administration, or a related field is a plus.
Proven experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in the oil and gas or industrial sector.
Familiarity with safety regulations, guidelines, and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns.
