Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production/Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee our production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes and management. The Production/Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the activities of production personnel to ensure efficient production workflow and high-quality output. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Supervise Production Team:
Direct and coordinate daily activities of production personnel.
Assign tasks to workers and ensure production targets are met.
Provide guidance, training, and motivation to production staff.
Monitor employee performance and provide feedback for improvement.
Quality Control:
Implement quality control processes to maintain high standards of production output.
Conduct regular inspections to identify defects and ensure product quality.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve quality issues promptly.
Production Planning:
Develop and maintain production schedules and priorities.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure the availability of raw materials and resources.
Optimize production processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Conduct safety training sessions for production staff.
Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed.
Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely supply of raw materials.
Implement inventory control strategies to minimize waste and reduce costs.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
Implement best practices to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement among production staff.
Reporting:
Prepare regular reports on production activities, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
Analyze data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions for process improvements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience in a manufacturing or production supervisory role.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and manufacturing software.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
Lean Six Sigma certification.
Previous experience in implementing process improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
