summary: The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing safe delivery of maintenance work on facility. The Mechanical Technician is a member of a multi-discipline team, maintaining the process and utilities systems in a safe and efficient manner. The main purpose of this position is to ensure availability of mechanical equipment (generators, diesel engines, compressors, turbines, pumps, quarters support equipment, sewage treatment systems, hypochlorite, drain and bilge systems, HVAC and chillers, hull hydraulics, chain jack and mooring systems, ventilation systems and survival craft). The Mechanical Technician shall have the ability to troubleshoot equipment efficiently, determine the root cause of the problem, and efficiently execute the proper repair that will deliver safe and reliable operation of the equipment. Responsible to deliver safe, reliable maintenance aligned with BP’s Values and participate in safety programs Responsible for following all safety, environmental and regulatory rules applicable to facility and completes Control of Work requirements daily Responsible for identifying and knowing the tools, materials, and procedures prior to the execution of work Responsible for daily recording of pertinent work order information (planner feedback, technical history, failure reporting, time, request for master data changes, lessons learned, etc.) Responsible for following Work Management processes and standards within planning activities and monitoring the agreed upon KPIs Responsible for adhering to a culture of reliability and continuous improvement Responsible for cleaning up work sites and returning unused materials to the storeroom at the completion of work Participate and support the Emergency Management System processes and the Environmental Management SystemEssential Education :A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of a 2 – 4 year apprenticeship program or technical degree within core craft.Essential experience and job requirements :Experience as a mechanic/millwright in the Oil & Gas Industry A working knowledge of mechanical equipment (generators, diesel engines, compressors, turbines, pumps, quarters support equipment, sewage treatment systems, hypochlorite, drain and bilge systems, HVAC and chillers, hull hydraulics, chain jack and mooring systems, ventilation systems and survival craft) The willingness and ability to work in small/confined places, as well as work on high platforms, walk on high elevation grating and walk up and down steps The willingness and ability to ride in a helicopter or boat over Gulf of Mexico waters for extended periods and be transferred to/from a boat via personnel basket swung by a crane with or without reasonable accommodations The willingness and ability to successfully complete a fitness for duty assessment The willingness and ability to serve as a member of an emergency response team Must possess a TWIC Card (Transportation Workers Identity Credential) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Desirable criteria and qualifications :A working knowledge of offshore production and safety shutdown systems Basic to advanced knowledge of electronic monitoring systems The ability to align machinery with laser alignment tools Offshore experience a strong plus, Post CV to [email protected]
