Job Summary:
The IT Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer systems, networks, and related hardware and software. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the efficient operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

Provide first-line support to employees for IT-related issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
Assist users with software installations, configurations, and updates.
System Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Perform regular system updates and backups.
Monitor system performance and ensure the optimal functioning of IT infrastructure.
Network Administration:

Set up and manage user accounts and permissions.
Ensure network security and connectivity.
Monitor and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Hardware Management:

Diagnose and repair hardware faults.
Replace or upgrade defective or outdated hardware components.
Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets.
Documentation:

Create and maintain technical documentation for IT procedures and systems.
Document and track IT support requests and resolutions.
Update records of IT equipment and software licenses.
Security:

Implement and manage security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption.
Ensure data protection and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Training and Support:

Train employees on the use of new software and hardware.
Provide guidance on best practices for IT usage and security.
Develop user manuals and guides for common IT tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and IT components.
Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and office software.
Familiarity with network protocols and cybersecurity principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements:

Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is an advantage.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) are preferred.
