Description
A Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to move materials, stock, and products efficiently and safely within warehouses, factories, or other industrial sites. This role requires excellent hand-eye coordination, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to manage time effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation:
• Operate forklifts and other machinery to move, load, unload, stack, or unstack materials and products.
• Transport goods to designated locations within the facility.
Material Handling:
• Safely load and unload trucks, containers, or pallets.
• Ensure materials are handled without damage.
Inventory Management:
• Organize and store materials in appropriate areas.
• Assist in stock counts and inventory audits when required.
Equipment Maintenance:
• Perform regular inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance or repair needs.
• Ensure forklifts are in good working condition and comply with safety standards.
Safety Compliance:
• Follow all workplace safety protocols and regulations.
• Use protective gear, such as helmets and gloves, as necessary.
• Identify and report potential hazards in the work environment.
Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of materials moved, stored, or dispatched.
• Complete required paperwork for shipments and inventory.
Collaboration:
• Work closely with warehouse staff, logistics teams, and supervisors to coordinate tasks efficiently.
• Communicate effectively about inventory needs or workflow adjustments.

Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
• Prior experience as a forklift operator or in a similar role (preferred).
• Experience in warehouse or logistics operations is an advantage.
Licenses and Certifications:
• Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory.
• Familiarity with different types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck) is a plus.
Key Competencies:
• Strong hand-eye coordination and precision.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of warehouse layout and inventory systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
