Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Audit Clerk to join our finance team. The Audit Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through meticulous review and reconciliation. This position contributes to maintaining financial transparency and compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Verify Financial Data: Review and cross-check financial data, invoices, receipts, and other transaction records for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciliation: Compare financial records, such as bank statements and purchase orders, with entries in the accounting system to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Document Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of financial transactions, ensuring proper filing and accessibility.
Accurate Data Entry: Input financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets, categorizing and coding entries correctly.
Error Identification: Detect inconsistencies, errors, and discrepancies in financial records, reporting issues for resolution.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with accounting, finance, and procurement teams to clarify discrepancies and resolve financial transaction issues.
Reporting: Prepare accurate financial reports, summaries, and statements for internal use and regulatory compliance.
Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Regulatory Adherence: Stay updated on financial regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance in financial activities and records.
Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, and issues related to financial records using critical thinking skills.
Confidentiality: Handle sensitive financial information with integrity, maintaining confidentiality.
Process Improvement: Suggest process enhancements or automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications.
Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy in financial record-keeping.
Basic Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and address discrepancies.
Collaboration: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Prior Experience: Previous experience in data entry, bookkeeping, or related role advantageous.
Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards a plus.
