the Decorative painter will be expected to use paint and other materials to make different surfaces that serve functional or ornamental roles, such as jewelry, glass, pottery, furniture and walls, more attractive. Decorative painting will involve a wide variety of techniques including free-hand painting, stenciling, faux finishing or gold leafing.
In this role the Decorative painter will be expected at a minimum to use Stucco paints, Gold leafing works, Spray paints, Shadow/ marble effects, Wood texture paints, concrete effect paints. Previous experience with these is essential and should be evidenced within your CV.
The decorative painter is expected to review all job orders, make his painting plan, and gather the materials needed. occassionally will need to mix, heat or melt ingredients by hand or with equipment to make what is needed. You will clean and prepares the surface to remove particles that can interfere with paint adherence, such as old paint or dust, with various tools including solvents and rags, sandpaper, scrapers or steam equipment. You will then apply paint with different tools, such as brushes, paint pens or markers, sponges or sprayers. After the work dries, you apply a clear coating, such as lacquer, to protect the work. At times you will inspect and retouch previously-painted surfaces to fix fading, worn or damaged areas
